The Division also recruits for trade shows, leads trade missions and hosts foreign delegations. Headquartered in Topeka, it also has offices located in Overland Park and Wichita. Intermodal Facilities in the RegionThere are currently five intermodal yards in the Region. The BNSF, KCS and NS each have one facility and the UP has two facilities in the region. Along with intermodal activity there are numerous switching yards, classification yards, transload facilities and other rail operations that occur in the region. Air Cargo Facilities in the RegionThe Kansas City International Airport (KCI) is the air cargo terminal in the region and is a short one hour drive from Topeka. Forbes Field Air Logistics Facility in Topeka, offers direct access to two runways (12,800’ and 7,000’), capable of landing any aircraft in the world and are maintained by the Metropolitan Topeka Airport Authority. The Forbes Field Air Logistics Facility has the assets in place for future growth of air cargo transportation and support for local industries.
