Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care

The Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care indicates how and to what extent medical resources are distributed and utilized throughout the country. In the data collected below, special emphasis is placed on the Midwest, East and West coasts as a mean for geographical comparison.

Medicare data is analyzed from a regional standpoint regarding spending, hospitals and affiliated physician data. It allows for a better understanding of the health care system and provides as a measure to improve upon health care and health care systems in the United States. According to The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, “These reports and the research upon which they are based have helped policymakers, the media, health care analysts and others improve their understanding of the efficiency and effectiveness of our health care system.”
