The Developing Homegrown Talent Goal within the Momentum 2022 strategic plan includes a key strategic objective to align the talent pipeline. Within that objective, ‘creating a “Cradle Through Career” (CTC) collective impact partnership’ is dedicated to building capacity in Topeka-Shawnee County’ as this is the most comprehensive and inclusive piece for our community.
TogetherTopeka is the brand creation of our collective impact initiative, incorporating all education and training providers, from cradle through career, non-profits, social service providers, faith-based organizations and the business community. TogetherTopeka is led by Executive Director Diann Faflick. Diann comes to us from Wichita Public Schools, having served in the Career and Technical Education office as a College and Career Readiness Specialist, where she provided leadership and support at the district level serving all students, staff and community partnerships.
The key areas of focus to Develop Homegrown Talent include:
- Align the “Talent Pipeline”
- Ensure all Children are Ready for Kindergarten
- Prepare Students for College and Careers
- Expand Continuing Education Options for Adults
By focusing on developing and retaining young talent, we will provide career pathways for our youngest population while assisting adults in furthering their education and acquiring new skills to continue to succeed in careers in our community.
