The Wall Street Journal and® Release Winter 2023 Emerging Housing Markets Index Report

The Greater Topeka Partnership is proud to announce Topeka, KS, has jumped 15 spots to claim the No. 4 ranking in The Wall Street Journal and’s Winter 2023 Emerging Housing Markets Index! A press release about the latest rankings can be found here, or you can read’s latest blog about the rankings at the following link:

According to their site, the latest emerging markets highlighted smaller metropolitan areas with healthy economies and easy commutes, where buyers can find refuge from higher costs of living. Please feel free to leverage in your reporting the following quote from local housing market expert Linda Briden:

“We’ve been in and out of that top-10 market for the past two years, and it just goes to show how strong our local economy is, with housing being a vital component of that,” said Linda Briden, CEO of the Sunflower Association of REALTORS. “Through everything, our housing market remains hot. Inflation hasn’t seemed to interfere with seller interest, and neither have higher interest rates, so there’s still a lot of demand from buyers. I have no doubt our housing market will continue to be strong through the end of the year.”
